I have a Dummy Santa Fe unit that has the potentiometer in the top vent of the body. I would like to solder the ERR sound board potentiometer off of the board and utilize the lionel volume control. Does, anyone know the resistance value of the onboard potentiometer on the ERR Board. I believe the lionel is 10K.

I think they are 10K. Highrailjohn would know for sure. My question is why bother? ERR sound boards have many more sound steps you can access with the cab1 than the old railsound 4.0 did, which was just about four steps between full volume and zero sound.
It is 10k. You can wire in the pot in the loco to the sound upgrade.
Thanks Jon! Board is on it's way. Gary, I understand the volume is adjustable under cab control. But, the F3 Shell has the pot already installed. So, sort of stupid not to use it. Anyway, thanks for the input guys!
