Hello all!  New to forum and after life took me away from model trains I am slowly getting back into it.  But I have come up with a couple of questions that I am getting confused about.

First, a little about what I am running I am using a CAB2 remote with a power house 185w connected to the direct connect device switched to 185w on the fastrack. I also have the command center connected.  My train runs great.  I now want to add some accessories (some plug and play) command control gantry crane etc. but also some older items (lift bridge 12687) etc..  So now the questions:

1. To power the accessories can I run a parallel command center with a powerhouse   I believe it is possible to set the voltage to a max 14v.  Is it possible to have its own address potentially treating it as conventional set voltage and forgett

Or

would it be better to get a zw-c (saw on eBay for $525 with 2 powerhouses)  or zw-l and set one channel to 14v for accessory for that purpose.

Finally,

is there a way to use the AVC and a separate powerhouse ( would I use my cab2 remote to set voltage and use the command center ) I already have.

The new Legacy power master will regulate your accessory voltage and it is less expensive than the old AVC and requires no extra cables like the AVC does.

The Legacy power master takes an i.d. directly from the remote just like a locomotive.

You could get a 2nd 180w powerhouse and run it through the Legacy power master and set the voltage for ypur accessories to your liking.

You'll want to cut the plug off of your plug and play items and wire them directly to the powermaster.

Lastly, If you don't already have one. You'll need a voltmeter to set the voltage.

They are inexpensive and can be found at your local hardware store, Amazon etc.

Personally I like the accessory motor controller to run accessories. It allows you to adjust the voltage running the accessories individually although it can get rather expensive for larger layouts . Regarding your question about the two transformers I would choose the ZW-L because it is currently being produced whereas the ZW-C is not and can have issues and parts may not be available

I've found that a Lionel 180w powerhouse set at 10v runs pretty much everything  "modern" reliably, This includes bulbs , motorized accessories , solenoid  accessories, crossing signals and various Z stuff sensors and signals.

Thank you!  So after skimming the manual for this it shows a power house connected and a command station but is this the same command station from the rest of the layout?  Can you use a splitter on the data lines? Or do I need a separate command station for the accessories and one for the engines? Which would be controlled by one cab2 wireless controller.
