Apparently one of the problems my friend was having changing the address on a TIU was caused by powering the TIU with a wall wart instead of power to Input 1. When he switched to using Input 1 with everything else disconnected it worked and he was able to change the TIU ID.
What is the issue with using aux power for this process?
Could this be why my attempts to back up a remote wouldn't work? Due to powering the TIU with the wall wart instead of transformer input?
Something else to try I guess.
