Powered Lionel Legacy units A and B (6-34511 and 6-34512) lashed as train NOT running at same speed. Direction lighting not functioning correctly. Have already reset both units.

Make sure they are both set to legacy control in the remote.
Matt
Can you tell an old guy how to set them to Legacy or check that they are? And what about the Odessey speed switch on the unit? Thanks f.

Saw the "MTH" bet you know a gentleman named Don Lockwood.
Thanks f.
Under engine type, make sure they are both set to same, either diesel or diesel switcher... switchers have different speed steps i think...
Good luck
Legacy engines started by having very similar speeds. My original Big Boy and my more recent EM1 as well as the FEF3 and SD40 all run within 1 speed step and can run well as MUs; however, the Subway R27, Genset NS each have a different gearing associated with the speed steps. I am certain my Heysler will have a different step settings as well (I just have not tested it yet).
The genset is a switcher which is setup to run at lower speeds. When you add it to a consist, the legacy system will change the speed ratio to be a road diesel and it will give you a message screen it did so

Yes, no doubt the genset is set to 'switcher' under legacy type, so will use switcher speed steps, which are different that diesel steps.
The engines this poster has are F7s and the powered B should run with that powered A.
I had a customer not long ago that had the same problem. He swore both units were set the same. Upon making a house call it was soon discovered one engine was set to Legacy and the other was set to TMCC. A couple of button pushes on the cab 2 remote and all was good again. Maybe Lionel should start issuing the memory modules again. One for the Legacy unit and one for the operators right ear. Just plug them in. LOL.
Any idea how to fix this issue for TMCC powered A-A units?
