Just curious, has any one taken an Atlas Dummy B Unit and installed powered trucks and motors. I have a customer at the store where I work that wishes to do this and I have no ideas if this is possible. Any information or how to do it would be greatly appreciated.

Its doable as the truck castings are the same, but the center shaft with the pinion on it, the pickups (sometimes) and the motor are not present. Obtaining parts will be the most difficult thing, therefore the best way to power one up is probably to buy a powered one, swap chassis, and sell the donor as a dummy to recoup some money.
I have a couple of dummies I removed the trucks from and powered with a totally different system. The trucks on the dummies appear to be identical to the ppowered ones and ones I have, have both the axle gears and the idler gears but not the worm gear and shaft. And of course the motors and pickups as listed above.
So the short answer is, yes it is possible. However it will require either getting a bunch of parts to complete the power trucks or getting replacement power trucks or a chassis.

The Atlas F use the same frame for both the A & B units, at least the ones I have. Best bet is to swap the B unit shell onto a powered A frame.
I powered a dummy B unit. In my case all I needed was two motors w worms, the motor mounts, and pickups. All of which I purchased through Atlas O.
Did take some adjustments to the mount screws for non binding operation.
P&D Hobbies in Michigan were the creators (sole the tooling to Atlas) of these. You might want to check their website. They sell repower options.
