I picked this up at the Muncie show this past winter along with a fabricated brass frame that the seller had no clue to its original purpose. But the length was about right for the FT body so he threw it in on the deal. I modified the frame to fit in the body mounting with one screw at the rear and 2 at the front. He also had a set of AN truck side frames, but none of the bits for them like the bronze bushings ect. Fast forward to the Franklin show last weekend. I got some CLW parts including a complete F unit power chassis, which will go in a AN F7 shell eventually, and most of a CLW E unit chassis with no trucks but all the gear boxes. So it got canablized for the motor and gearboxes. Now I need either the missing parts for my AN trucks, a pair of complete AN trucks or CLW Blombergs so I can make the old girl run. I have the motor fitted, driving the rear truck only. Which with the 5lb body should be plenty on my small layout. The new AN does not sell the bronze bushings I need so my trucks pick up power. In the first pic, there is no chassis in it yet, just the trucks sitting under the body on the mantel.

Only five pounds? I would have thought that all that bronze/brass would be much heavier. This one weighs in at a little over thirteen pounds:
From what I can tell from the gearing, this will run at a slow, prototypical speed.
And, someday it will be two-railed; maybe even a can motor to replace the existing wound-field motor.

Well, that is what my unoffical digital scale said, but its more for weighing people than a brass shell. I know my cast brass Alco PA is much heavier. I think the shell is more like 10 or 12lbs just by holding it.
Looks like a nice example. For some reason most of mine have modified front number boards. Some of the FTs by Adam’s had more narrow front windows and some had side rivets. I purchased one that was powered with All Nation on an acrylic chassis which works well. I will likely replicate that technique.

I am probably going to put in a dual tower drive AN set up here shortly. This set up does not work how i want it to, the CLW wheels are double insulated so no power pickup thru the trucks, but the wheelsets do not play well with the AN trucks either. I know where I can get an AN B unit with power chassis in it. For some reason, the previous owner sanded away the rear two radiator fan details. So its kind of odd looking without them. No real good way to add them back either.
