Powering track through Fastrack switch | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

John HOGR Forum Member SUPPORTING MEMBERDIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I am wondering if I can power a track block through the track jumper screw on a Fastrack switch. I am using aux power to power the switch. I try to put the feed in the center of the block and have a couple where the switch is the center of the block.

I personally have never considered it, and due to the small connecting wires inside the switch, I'd recommend against it.

I agree, I wouldn't do it with FasTrack, as I do with K-Line(K-275/276 K-375/376) and Lionel 022(& O-72 counterparts) type switches. Here is a pic from another post of the underside with the cover removed showing the light gauge wiring:
