Is Lionel doing a Vision line engine this year? I thought it is usually in the Signature catalog for the beginning of the year. Anyone have input in this? I don't want to pre-order an AC9 and they are doing something great with a vision line release that I would prefer to have.

Not unusual for Lionel to skip a year/catalog for Vision Line locomotives. Rumor has it the overseas factory is still looking for all those mysterious GG1 "Steam Locomotives" to ship! 
Seriously, it's good to have some downtime between the Vision Line locomotive offerings... Helps give folks a chance to recharge their wallets. As it is, the 2017 catalog in general doesn't even have the breadth of regular product offerings -- most likely for the same reason. There's a TON of stuff out there!!!
OTOH, if Lionel were to re-run the VL tank cars w/Freightsounds, they'd be an instant sellout.

I would certainly love to see freight sounds and something new like a smoking tank car (with some quality smoke output.) to go along with sounds. Id spend $$$ on that.
I guess AC9 it is for me!!! now do I do daylight paint scheme or photo paint...decisions decisions.
