I've been waiting for 2 MTH items to become available at The Train Loft. A roadside lighted sign 30-90650 and wood sided reefer 20-94965. The first was supposed to be available Oct 23 and the second Sept 23. They keep telling me they will let me know when they have them but we are past the date MTH says you can purchase them. Is this normal for pre-announced MTH items?

Pretty normal. It's rare that something actually arrives when scheduled.
Mini rant: what’s with “preorder”? You are “ordering” an item, in anticipation of future delivery. I’ve never “preordered” anything. I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff. Done.

As Marty said this is the norm. My last MTH preorder was a year past the expected date.
However, the first item number you mentioned shows as a Train Loft exclusive and "Delivered" in October on the MTH website. It also shows in stock at The Train Loft. The 2nd item you mentioned does not come up. I assume you are contacting the Train Loft directly and not MTH.

Again, like Marty said: Pretty normal.
Not sure of the Train Loft’s shipping policy. I placed an order years ago from a large dealer. Ordered 3 cars from different manufactures in order to qualify for free shipping by spending a set amount. . A couple cars sat on a shelf for quite some time. In order to get free shipping. They had to be shipped together. It all worked out. I just had to wait a bit.
That word pre-order scares this guy. I was wondering how many people in this Hobbie have passed on before there pre-orders came. I guess life is a gamble and so are pre-orders.

Well it's not like you have paid for it. Pre-orders cost little to nothing in most cases. I'm sure this happens all the time especially since there are tons of older people in this hobby.

The reefer you inquired about is showing as in stock at The Train Loft (it is one of their exclusives). I just received an email from Jeff that it would be arriving this week, so I expect he will start shipping them next week.
He just said he would send a PayPAl request for the cost of items when he had them in stock. Told him I would prefer both items shipped together to save on the over all cost.
