EDIT: The AF track I was given is HO track, not OO as I'd been told years ago.

Are Lionel and American Flyer track compatible with each other?

FWIW, I posted here because this is probably where the most informed folks are likely to have the answer.

I was not aware that American Flyer made "OO".

I believe American Flyer made "HO".

You may be right. The rails are 7/8" apart. I've had this track for over 20+ years and only got it out while cleaning out train stuff. IIRC, the guy who gave it to me said it was OO. I didn't pay for it, so if it's HO at least I'll know what I have. I don't know anything about HO.
