Preorder Time Approaching - What Are You Getting?

Pre-ordered this set as well - I bet this is a "best" seller for Lionel this year.

Nothing. I think it's best I don't buy anything due to some health issues that maybe serious.

I am waiting to see delivered product.  Only then will I purchase.  First time in more years than I can remember that I didn't pre-order anything.

I pre-ordered the Boston & Maine E8 passenger set with Legacy from the 2020 catalog. Also have pre-ordered an American Flyer RF&P Berkshire with Legacy from the 2019 catalog.

I am not preordering any thing. The issues with my current purchases from Flyonel have killed my interest in gambling on WHEN&IF&WILL THEY BE DEFECT FREE?

The only thing that caught my eye was a Polar Express scale TOFC. The Christmas train keeps growing. If this keeps up, I'll need more motive power.

It looks like the engine in this set is the same as the E8 AA sets a few pages before in the same 2020 catalogue. I just wish they offered the same paint scheme as an AA set w/o the rolling stock.

I see no advantage to pre-orders unless it’s a speciality item I may think will sell out. Trains in general today don’t sell very quickly due to high prices and low demand. I’ve observed an over abundance of dealer stock at times in recent years. I also don’t like waiting a month after the product finally is released or not getting combined shipping as ordered items don’t all arrive at once. Some dealers are first to receive items, others seem to be on the bottom of the MFG. shipping list. P.O.’s really haven’t worked out for me. I’ll just wait for a holiday sale and buy it when it's actually on the dealers shelves. The Lionel items I ordered about a year ago still wont arrive until sometime this summer. Just no way to run a business.

Big year/catalog for me because of the great variety of Southern Pacific items.

I ordered the Santa Fe 120 year set, passengerstation ,gateman,& finally figured out its train only, no track no remote, no big deal.

Also ordered all the Star Trek cars and train set,  ordered the Christmas set with the lighted track and some extra track.

This life in the man who's selling all my existing collection but I got approval from the board then they took my credit card, lol!!!

I ordered way too much !! 

I ended up ordering both road numbers for the Coors 🍻 beer cars and the Pennsylvania Train Master freight set.

0-6-0t LC 2.0 Brooklyn loco. My son is too young for full blown Legacy control and this will pair nicely with a LC remote or the app.

Not going to preorder, I was considering pre ordering the brooklyn union docksider, but I couldn't see any particular reason to do so, it already was going to be a long term until delivery, and with the current global situation they likely aren't going to show up based on the original production schedules. I'll wait until they actually ship to dealers and buy it then, one dealer had a nice price on the preorder, but just not sure it is worth preordering for it.

Yeah, these were originally offered in the 2019 catalog and I preordered one then. As I recall from past threads, the membership here was “all in” on these 0-6-0Ts. I think they will be quite popular.

Last time I checked a July delivery.
