Lee Hall Depot, a freshly restored former C&O station built in 1881 and located in Newport News VA, is hosting a series of programs since it opened this summer. I attended one last Wednesday evening on railroads in the Civil War with, as you'd expect, the focus on Virginia's railroads. It was very well done.
On December 1, the presentation will be: "The Silver Fleet in Palm Tree Country" highlighting the twilight of passenger train service in Florida in the late 1960's. As a lover of all passenger trains in the streamliner era this date has been reserved. Please see the attached links for more information:
