To save having to retype the entire post HERE is a link to the text.
Thanks.

Nothing wrong with repainting a caboose to match an engine, but running a caboose behind a observation car, that is a different issue

LOL dump the observation car, add another Pullman and I am in business!!
Any idea on era appropriate dealer layouts?

Its your train, do what you want to do.
(I can't tell you who to sock it to)
Seriously, does your observation have a rear coupler?
My older son used to like to run trains of nothing but caboose. So I kept buying cabooses with couplers on both ends until he had a nice long train.
How about running the observation car behind the caboose? Have the car painted and lettered as if it were a corporate business car for the rail carrier.
Prewar Pappy,
I agree 100%!

Yea... Thanks for the ideas guys but I have no plans to alter the 530 obs car. She is a sweetie. I have no issues altering an dime a dozen 807 though. I am pretty sure I can find another 529 if I went that way.
How's about color matching the old prewar paints? Anyone have a source?
Still most interested in prewar dealer layouts that this little set could have conceivably ran on... Anyone got anything?

For accurate restoration, collectors have original color matched and have the paint specially blended.
For general, clean it up colors that are close, check out forum sponsor Henning's Trains for a line of colors that they carry.

See your other thread...window displays by the store owner-just a loop and product.
