I recently acquired a TMCC Command Base and connected it to my TIU via the specialized cable from MTH following the instructions from the DCS companion book. I have a Lionel HHP-8 engine which I attempted to enter into the DCS remote. I went through the steps to enter it, after wards when I tried to run the engine, it did not react to any of the buttons, when I moved the thumbwheel, it seemed to turn on, but still no sound, it started to go around the track but did not respond to the speed control very well would not stop and start very well. I tried to program the engine a couple of times, one time having the program button on the engine on and one time having it off. I attached a couple of pictures of how I have the command base hooked up to see if I did anything wrong. does anybody have any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help once more!

It looks like you have everything hooked up correctly. Only 2 things come to mind.... What TMCC address did you give the engine after naming when adding to the dcs remote. You have to know what it is.
Does the command base wall power adaptor have 3 prongs?
You mentioned it would move so it's probably added correctly....
One thing you could try id changing the speed steps. After selecting the engine notice the softkey (s3) SPD. select it and now you have the option of 32 or 128 steps, Try'em both..... good luck.
I take it you don't have a CAB-1 so .. here we go.... you have the engine added to the dcs remote but not sure of it's TMCC address. Well, we create a new TMCC address.
Using the dcs remote go to Menu/System/ Engine set up/ Edit engine/ Edit engine address Select the TMCC engine and follow the on screen instruction . ... Place run/program switch to program etc. If you get a short whistle blast you'll know the new address took... Wife is calling for supper, back later......
Any luck??
I was having problems and discovered I had the old faulty DCS/TMCC connector cord; bought a new one and all is well.
