Good point Vernon and grj! Never thought of that. I will pop the hood and check to see if the battery is charging. If not, I guess that will be the next problem to deal with! Sheesh, just when you thought you were done..........
I did a quick video of a 9V BCR test. The thumbnail is the BCR on the bench to be tested. Note that it takes over a minute at 100ma to reach the 9V terminal value, my guess was way off.
If you have a BCR in the engine, start it up and wait a few minutes. Then do a battery check on the remote or app, it should read "HIGH" when fully charged.

Battery charging circuit followup: So I pulled the shell and checked the rechargeable 9V battery; 9.4 volts. This was after the engine had sat dormant overnight. When I installed the battery a few days earlier it was reading 8.7 volts best I recall. So I conclude it is charging pretty well. Wish I still had the BCR in order to test it, but it already got tossed out. Oh well.
