I have an MTH GS-4 PS2 with 5 volt Bd. (MTH # 20-3060-1 )

The sound is intermittent, especially as it moves through curves or switches. If I stop it and move the tether near the plug I can get the sound to stop or start. It runs without any problem under DCS. The only problem is with the sound.

I can’t tell if it is the tether or a loose pin in the engine socket.

Any suggestions would be appreciated to help identify the problem and the pin or colored wire responsible for sound in order to repair it.

Thank You,

Ron

Thank you Gunrunnerjohn for your suggestions,

Is there a specific color wire  or pin # that I could look for associated with sound to narrow my search for the problem?

Also, Is there a specific MTH tether number to order if I need a replacement?

Thanks again,

Ron

A trick I like to do is fire up the engine with the shells off, then cut the lights out in the room, & wiggle the tether in the socket, if you have a cold solder joint, or cracked solder joint, you might catch it in the act, and see a tiny spark where it’s trying to make a connection, …..done that quite a few times….
