Can't connect camera to router
Replies sorted oldest to newest
"What we've got here...is failure to communicate." per wifi (cool hand luke captain)
Much more info is needed, like is camera in caboose ?
Brand of camera, router ?
Any passwords on router ?
Not to mention what are the symptoms of the failure to connect, and what is the exact procedure you're following to connect it.
I think he wants to connect the Cam Caboose to the house wifi. I had no luck with that. I found it really easy to find the Cam as an access point connecting the iPhone wifi to it. Then open the app on the phone, and view the Cam in the app. The only reason to connect the Cam to the house wifi is maybe to have multiple Cams connected at the same time...would that be true?

LOL...
This is like going to your doctor, telling him you, “Don’t feel good.” and expecting him to know what’s wrong with you.
In order for anyone be able to help you, a whole lot more information is needed.
I AM TRYING TO GET CAMERA IN PENNSY CABOOSE TO WORK WITH LIONEL WIFI PROGRAM . CAN'T GET CAMERS TO SHOW UP IN SETTINGS OF ANY DEVICE

Actually, the primary reason would be so you didn't have to keep changing connections in your phone or tablet that you're viewing the camera on.
THE LIONEL WIFI CAMERA DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE SETTINGS ON MY IPHONEOR GALAXY TAB. TRIED RESET ON CABOOSE WITH NO LUCK. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. TONY
The first thing that needs to happen once the caboose has been on for a few seconds or so for iPhone, is to look under settings, WiFi, and let the list build of available WiFi signals. It will not come up with any "Lionel" ID in the network SSID. I can't remember what exactly it is but if you know what is already around you, you should be able to pick it out. Once it has connected, go to the App and add the camera. Again this may take a few seconds.

Ah! I would like that. Maybe I'll try to do that.

It does take some time to have it appear in the wifi...I tried turning the wifi on and off on the phone and it seems to show up then.
I created a video on it a few months ago, see if it helps.

GARY THE PROBLEM IS I DON'T SEE THE CAMERA IN THE SETTINGS OG MY I PHONE OR GALAXY TAB.
If the camera caboose wi-fi ID name as in step #1 of Gary’s step-by-step excellent instructions shown above is not displaying the wi-fi ID, then perhaps the slide switch powering the camera underneath the caboose is switched “off” or is installed incorrectly and is backwards?? Try switching the camera power switch to the opposite position and retry.
If no luck on seeing the wi-fi ID name, then you probably have to send it back under warranty.
