Problems with a fastrack switch

I am experiencing a problem with an 072 gauge fastrack left side switch. When it's straight the trains jerk when they are running over it. If I have it switched on for the trains to go off to the left the trains are fine. I've cleaned the tracks and train wheels and have run different cars and engines on it and the same thing happens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Look inside. The crimps that are expected to carry the current frequently don't. I open them up and solder all the track crimps that either carry current or go to any internal switch circuitry. This solved the issues for me on mine.
