What is the procedure to install MTH proto-sound in vintage Lionel. I am looking for a particular MTH Alco, and it's generally not available. If I wanted to install proto-sound in a vintage Lionel, how would I go about it. I know the other manufacturers make numerous locos with TMCC, but I learned long ago that Proto-sound and TMCC don't gee-haw. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

It would need to be a Lionel with DC Can motors. If it isn't, you would need to find the QSI ACRU bottom board, the PS Power Supply board, than any QSI or MTH PS-1 top board would work. If it has DC can motors, no problem and would be an easy back fit. G
Are you talking ProtoSound 1 (conventional) or PS/2 (command)?
As GGG says, if it has can motors, it's a very simple wiring job for ProtoSound 1 (conventional)
