Classic Trains Magazine did an excellent 11 page cover story on the PRR Turbine a few mos. ago, in the Spring '12 issue. Back issues are easy to find on Ebay.

Check out ....The Keystone, volume 45, no.3 which features a great cover shot of PRR 6200 and a great story on this awesome locomotive. "The Keystone" is the publication put out 4 times per year by the PRR T & H Society.

This publication is regarded as the "5th Gospel"......following Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in my house. Chuck Blardone has forgotten more than most will ever know about the Mighty PRR. He is an outstanding editor/writer.

Also included in this issue are 3 technical drawings of the S-2. This is quite an issue! Tom in PGH

It'll be interesting to see how you are going to make a turbine that will move a light Live Steam locomotive without overtaxing what is already going to be a boiler of modest capacity.

In that Classic Trains story mention was made that in starting the boiler pressure went from a full 300 pounds instantly down to way less than a hundred; no wonder the engine had staybolt problems.

That article was OUTSTANDING!  And Tom has hit the nail on the head describing the editor and the publication.  What a quality product!
