Hello O scale world ...recent find at York ... picked up a lovely old type P electric ... scratch built but by who ??
Hand lettered Pennsylvania on the side ..but "Union Terminal" had been painted over ..UT was Jack Bramble's layout ... open MR February 1949 for full article about Jack's impressive line up of engines he built . Full description about the construction of his Type O and P were given with photos ... dead on match up .
Bramble ran outside 3rd rail ... this engine was modified later for inside 3rd rail ... one day to be converted back to outside 3rd rail ... also period manual reverse (mounted through hole in roof...just like the prototypes) has been replaced with a tinplate buzz box ..also to be replaced in time .
The Pullman is a Crovan ... out of Greenwich CT connected with Minton Cronkhite ....line was later carried / represented by North Eastern in NJ circa 1934 /5 ....cast and stamped aluminium... quite light .. note working vestibules ...
A drop of oil ...and the P springs to life !!!...complete with working lights ...will worth the price of admission .
Cheers Carey
