I have a Weaver Ultra line SD40-2 with PS1. While entering a switch on our clubs travelling modular layout it lost power and got stuck in neutral. At the time the previous owner, a club member, had not changed the original battery. Thus, it may have been a low battery issue when the board lost power. When I brought it home I did replace the battery with a new one. Naturally, the horse was already out of the barn, but why not shut the door?
I've researched the issue on this forum and others. I can't get it out of neutral.
On start up I don't get the 3 clanks. I have a Z4000 and have used it to attempt a reprogram or reset using feature 18. No joy. I had a spare board with an SD40-2 chip and replaced the chip, still nothing. Is it possible the board is scrambled and I could use the reset chip, even though I don't get the 3 clanks on start up? Am I missing something? Is this a lost cause?
