PS-1 to PS-2 or 3

I have a very nice Norfolk Western 2-6-6-4 Class A #1218 MTH 20-3036-1. It has Proto Sounds which I think some refer to as PS-1. I installed a BCR so I don't worry about a low battery problem. But Is it possible to convert this engine to PS-2 or PS-3 economically?

I don't know what you consider economically, but the PS/2 upgrade kit is $180, or $150 for members of the MTH RR Club. That's what you need to do the job.
