speakers 4 ohm 4watt BF-0000043,3 watt BF-0000034, there are a lot speakers varying size and wattage
Speaker lead w/ plug BC-0000207
Have fun it will take about 2 weeks to get them.
your part number for speaker are wrong it is not a 50mm speaker very small and fits between trucks bottom and is rectangular not round! thanks for trying this is a Alco diesel.
Try going to service parts punch in a speaker number where it says part Number,it will show that part. it also open a window that will take phrases. type in Speaker and you should get 19 pages of speaker related items and hopeful you can ID your speaker .
Have fun with your trains
Alan, Look in your service book under parts section. The BC-2/6 is the universal replacement. There also are smaller speakers. Your saying this premier diesel has the speaker under the truck?? Or did you mean in the fuel tank. G
The Alco S-2 uses a smal rectangular 4 ohm speaker measuring about 1 5/8 x 1 1/8 inch speaker with 4 screw holes in its corners mounted in the fuel tank.
yes George and thanks for asking bc -2000006 is the universal harness I found but wanted to make sure its the right harness. could not find speaker on web sight n yes its in fuel tank confusing thing is ps 3 is 4 ohm and this engine has a 8 ohm but has only been serviced by mth in Maryland.
the closest speaker I could find is part number BF-0000048 will this work?
alan
thanks, Joe Allen due you know the part number for the tank speaker 4 ohm ,there are very few pictures on mth websight!
thanks Alan
Sorry, I don't have the part number. But I have a used PS2 20-2839-1 NP Alco S-2 with a same size speaker that is 8 ohms that I have apart. I thought maybe it had been replaced with the wrong speaker, but maybe not after reading about your S-2. I have seen the same size speaker that is 4 ohms in a Premier NYC 4-4-0 PS2 engine. They are both Star brand speakers.
Maybe a call to MTH parts can put some light on this.
Some times they have issues with getting speakers and I have also seen 8 ohm speakers in PS-2 3V/PS-3. It is the safe direction. BF-50 is the rectangular 4 ohm. G
Thanks for the information GGG and Joe Allen!
Appreciated

The dimensions look right!
Thanks Alan,
I guess that's why we have the 8 ohm speakers in the Alco S-2.
