Hello Fellow MTH Lovers. I have the cute little #25 Red Christmas loco with PS 3 . My problem is this: Start up and operation all normal running for about 5 minutes perfectly then it will play stop and go and stop and go. I can shutdown and start up again and it will go for a couple more minutes and then play stop and go again. It has the tether that everyone hates. I'm using a Rev L TIU with a standard remote. Software is 6.1. Your input would be appreciated.

Whats the product number. P3's did not have tethers, they had the 6 pin wireless drawbar. Could this engine have been upgraded with the P3/2 hybrid board using the old tether. If the engine does have the tether, you could have a broken wire in the tether, or the pins where you plug in under the cab could be loose. What you are describing sounds like intermittent contact involving the tether/plug. That is where I would look first.
Above. Broken wire or poor contact either in engine harness to drawbar or tender to drawbar. Also bad draw bar, or it is coming loose from tender. Snap in good and use tight o-ring to hold in place and see if that resolves? If not, continuity checks commence.
