Hi,
I bought on RK PS2 GS4 on the bay with a bad smoke unit. Everything else worked great. MTH doesn't have the whole unit, only parts, so I bought two heating elements and a fan motor to fix it. When I powered up I got one puff of smoke, a trace on the board to the heating elements common burned in half and the locomotive won't move or make sounds. I get two clangs when I power up and then nothing. The headlight and the smoke unit fan run okay. I can hear the relays clicking every time depress the direction button and there is a relay click when I go past half throttle and back down again. I directly connected DC to the motor and it moves the locomotive just fine. Is it fried or is there a way to reset? A search provided no answers.
