Never had this happen before. My PS2 NYO&W F3 ABA set. Delivered in 2007. Eerily, I picked it up on March 29....50 years to the day when the NYO&W passed out of existence.

It runs well at all speeds. Start up is fine.

Sound is great at 15 SMPH.

If I push it to 30 SMPH (below), this is what happens to the sound in about 10-15 seconds.

So, what's going on?

If I press direction, it stops and goes back to normal sounds. Restart at 15 SMPH. Run it for 10 minutes. No problem. Push it to 30. Same thing happens. Recycle to down to 0: back to normal sound. Then, back up to 15 SMPH forward, running and sounding fine for a half hour so far.

Wow, this is beyond me (actually, anything after turning the transformer on is beyond me).

Thank you,  Jim.....I hate to have an issue with this engine.....it's probably as rare as actual O&W engines are!

It also highlights why I'm not in a buying mode right now. I don't even know the full capabilities of the engines I have! I am looking forward to dropping nights and weekends starting next year......Having more time will allow me to really explore all the features of my collection!

Thanks so much,
Peter
