PS2 PREMIER TRIPLEX DERAILING ISSUES ???

If my recollection is correct this engine should navigate O42 curves with no issues. My first suggestion would be to spread all those bunched up ties back to where they should be in order to keep a consistent gauge on your track and it will make your curve radius much smoother to navigate. If it's derailing at a track connection I would close the gap up snug on the connection and sand the top of the rail to get rid of any burr's or bump's to avoid any wheel flange's from catching.

As far as whistle repair you could cut the end off of a small nail and try super glueing the end of the nail to the screw and let it cure good then screw it out. If the screw has thread locker on it this probably won't work but it won't damage anything to try. I've gotten screws out this way in the past.

Another way would be to remove the shell and drill the hole out threads and all and just glue a replacement whistle in. The reason for removing the shell is to keep any metal or shavings out of your electronics and motor's.

First off the MTH manual states O-72! Do you actually KNOW that all your track is O-72?  I have run mine on O-72 for hours over 5-days on my dealer's layout before actually completing the purchase.

  Secondly I see GarGrave track on shims probably allowing the track to flex under the weight.

You may be better off with no banking track.  I know it look neat but unless it's perfect these type of derailment can happen.. This engine is probably not as forgiving as others. I think your track work needs a little attention.    

Guys, the cover between the engine and tender was positioned under the tender floor and that's what caused the tender drivers to derail. One issue solved thanks to the guy who suggested looking at that issue. Also, working the track is making a huge difference and everything seems to be running fine now thanks to all your help.

Totally missed that the "deck plate" was positioned under intend of above the tender deck.

with the main axles on MTH steamers unsprung, I wouldn't expect them to do well over bumps. Your pictures look as if the track work is ruff. Is the base under the track just 1/4" plywood ?

I would be worried that it will not be stiff enough unless you make a T with another piece underneath. Try and curve the tracks smoothly.
