I bought a used European NORD 2-3-1 Pacific Steam Engine.  20-3451-1

Nice Engine, however, it starts up on it's own when power is applied to the track every time.

I'm running in full DCS, all switches are correct and no other MTH engines are on the track.

I've completed a Factory and Feature reset several times with no luck.

The engine comes to life on it's own - lights, sound, smoke..........I can shut it down - re-start and run normally with all functions.

None of my other MTH PS2 or PS3 engines behave this way.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Running 8 to 10s George on strength.

If I do a "shut down" on the handheld DCS and cut power - before - the "click" it will start up properly when power is re-applied.

If I do a "shut down" on the handheld DCS and - wait for the "click" then cut the power.....when power is re-applied it will start on it's own.

Lights, smoke, and sounds come on but no movement.

If I do a "shut down" the engine will silence, come back with a "start up" and as long as the operating session lasts (layout powered on) then all is well.

I'm past my level of knowledge on this!

And what does the "click" mean?

Thank You for helping

Dave

There is a glitch that can cause PS-3 to miss the watch dog signal.  I have heard software and also hardware on the board.  Hardware makes more sense to me.  Combination of tolerance issues that cause a certain board to miss the watch dog signal.  Otherwise all functions fine.  G
