PXL_20220609_180732344.PORTRAITPictured is a motor in the chassis of a 1946 726 Berkshire.  Below that is a regular 726/736 motor.

Obviously the 1946 726 motor is larger but is it the one referred to as a "large stack" motor?  Or did all 726 horizontal motored engines come with this motor?

Have 2 1946 versions of the 726 not with the high stack motor looks similar just not as many plates and the field is supposedly slightly smaller.

Heard same story that the high stack was for dealer display running. Also heard some call them gold seal motors or something similar ?

Also have 4 or 5 -  1946 turbines also made 1 year only with smoke bulb no high stack motor not sure if one was made for them . The 726 high stack motor or its stock motor will not work with the 1946 version Turbine one problem being the end gear of the berk is smaller than the turbines.

Will say regardless both the berk and turbines run smooth if properly maintained.

Previous owner may have converted to a high stack motor.  Like I have done with my 1946 726.  Parts are around from time to time.

Look at the solder joints on the motor.  I know hard to tell but see if they look "factory".  Wires look original.  I was able to use the original wires on mine, there was enough length.
