I had an awkward, small triangle between the two sections of my downtown area and was not sure what to do with it.  It occurred to me that in the real world people often put a parking lot there until they figure out a better use, so  . . . Foamboard covered with ballast, a cheap fence and tiny attendant's shack, etc., all in a couple of hours . . . and I have a claustrophobicly tight parking lot just barely big enough to display six cars!    Eventually I want to do something else with it, but for now it's a place to put a few of my better looking cars right on the edge of the layout.

Lee, here's a suggestion for a scene in your car park.

This was a scene at the car park in Edinburgh's Waverley station yesterday, where somebody decided that the 'closed' signs did not apply to them. I posted the story in the 'Real Trains' forum, and ReadingFan suggested it would be a good idea for a layout scene. (Thanks!)

I like this idea.  I might change it, in fact, because I am not happy with the look of it as a parking lot.  Good idea.

Or, maybe I put a tree museum there!

I want to thank Joe Hohmann for a great suggestion!  I decided to make it a used sports car place - sports cars smaller and more will fit in, and besides, I have a lot of sports cars.   I really like the result (first photo). Plus there was a huge bonus.   I was able to move most of my English sports cars to this site, which freed up room across town (second photo) to change that place to exclusively Italian cars.  I've ordered some 1:43 tool chests and mechanic's stuff to fill both sites out with details, and am thinking about names for the signs: leaning toward Nigel's English Motorcars and Ascari's Auto Italiana.

Below, still with a sign, but I love it already.  Nigel is showing a used Jag to a prospective customer, who's just not sure . . .

Below, the guy with the Buick is infatuated with the latest Alfa, even though more inconic machinery is all around it.  His bored wife reads a newspaper quietly, knowing it's inevitable but telling herself that at least she will get the Buick.
