Sam,

I am not sure if there are multiple regions referred to as “Quad Cities” in the US but if you are referring to the IL-IA border near Davenport, IA then were 2 hobby shops I used to visit until 2 years ago. 1 was “Major Art & Hobby Center” in downtown Davenport. They had a reasonable selection of MTH products along with other hobby supplies like Rockets & painting supplies. There was another along River Drive or State Street along the Mississippi river driving from Davenport to Bettendorf before you got to the I-74 Bridge. I drive that way only once a year & the selection wasn’t a lot to stop at either store anymore. These days I just drive to Caboose Stop Hobbies in Cedar Falls, IA.

Thanks,

Naveen and Art,

Yes I Googled the Quad City area and called several shops but they didn't sound promising or didn't carry train stuff.

Thunder Road Hobbies was mostly HO when we stopped years ago, and Major Art& Hobby seems to carry just Lionel starter sets according to person answering phone.

And yes Caboose Stop is our favorite shop, and luckily only 50 miles from our home!  We NEVER leave that store without something from there.  Then off to eat lunch somewhere along Main Street, and if we are up to it, go back to shop for second look-see.  Carol has hinted she may be doing some show or something in Cedar Rapids area this summer/fall but not sure yet.  She asked if I wanted to have open house at our place.

So Art, you must be somewhere close in this area to be able to get there.
