Hi, I've never installed a sound board before, so I would really appreciate any help with how to do so. But first, is it possible to swap the sound board in a Lionel legacy tender with a different sound board from another legacy tender? I would like to do this, but if it helps, I have a Lionel legacy mikado, and I'd like to swap the sound board with the Lionel legacy Southern Crescent 4-6-2 pacific sound board. Would this be possible? Thanks.

Hi guys, I called Lionel and unfortunately, they won't send you a sound board without exchanging, so they referred me to the Electric railroad. Now, I've heard about the Electric railroad, but I've never done any business with them, so before I call them, I was just curious if any of you guys have bought any sound boards through them. Do you have to do an exchange with them like Lionel? Do they sell Lionel legacy sound boards? I would really appreciate any input you could give on this, thanks.

No surprise there, that's what I've always been told.

ERR has a select number of sound boards, and their new ones are very similar to what you have.

You can visit The Electric RR and listen to the sound clips for the available sound sets.

The bad news is, they're not Legacy compatible, they're for TMCC only.  They likely won't recognize the Legacy commands.
