Can anyone tell me what is the right length for a ProtoCoupler to replace the mechanical coupler on an MTH #30-7949 N&W RailKing Water tender?
From the picture on MTH's web page, it appears that the 2" ProtoCoupler would be the right size.
Can someone confirm this, please?

The issue is that I don't know which one is more appropriate. I have some of the longer ones and I think they are correct, however, I'm seeking confirmation.

If you have the tender measure it. The mechanicals come in the same two sizes. In the end it comes down to appearance of the gap between aux tender and next car, unless the coupler is too short and than it interferes with shells in corners. G

It no longer matters which one is more appropriate.
I already had a couple of the longer ProtoCouplers and now, thanks to Joe, I'll have a couple of the shorter ones as well.
