I bought this adapter for Superstreets/EZ streets which goes from tubular to streets & am wondering what the little plastic piece is for?

Me too.
I think if you don't elect to use the street part that piece creates a smooth transition from level thru the crossing.
Paul K. Your probably right but why would you buy this adapter if you weren't going to use the streets!!
