I have a question for either of you two gentlemen,  @Dave Olson or @Conrail6358.(I have already emailed Lionel directly and have not received a reply).   All the new 21" streamlined passenger cars going back a number of catalogs have been advertised as having "LED interior lighting with on/off switch",  and when the cars were produced that is exactly what they had.   In the latest 2017 Vol. 2 catalog,  there are a number of new scale heavyweight passenger cars featured(Polar Express,  Pennsylvania,  Long Island,  Great Northern,  etc).   In the description,  the cars are listed as having "interior lighting with on/off switch",  with no mention of LED lighting.   Can someone confirm if these new heavyweight cars are still going to use the old incandescent lighting or whether they will have LED lighting in the interior as the other scale passenger cars currently use?   I,  for one,  certainly hope Lionel will use the LED's.   Thanks for your help.

Nick

The heavyweight cars will have LED lighting and will have the CAPS for flicker-free performance just like the 21" cars.

Dave,

That is great news!   Thanks for your quick response here once MartyE helped me figure out to ask a question that you would actually see and receive.   Keep that Kevlar vest handy!

Nick,

There is always something that will trip us old guys up with this newfangled technology stuff isn't there?      As my dad used to say, "Who'd a thunk it??"

Mark-you have no idea!   To put things in perspective,  my newest cell phone is a Jitterbug flip phone-no texts,  no voice mail,  no photos.LOL

I have a heavyweight passenger car question that Lionel has not responded to me about. I have two Polar Express heavyweight passenger cars with overhead light that has a blue tint making the interior easier to observe and then 5 cars that do not have this color bulb and harder to see inside detail.  Can these brighter bulbs be replaced and what is the item number to order the blue tint bulbs?
