Hi, Mark;

I'm just looking for generalities here, since the data are proprietary.

I was wondering:  all in all, is Menard's pleased with the enthusiasm toward their O-gauge product offerings? Surprised? Disappointed, or what?  I realize the OGR forum crew are just one small (well, OK, huge) part of the active O-gauge hobbyists, but have other venues / advertising sources brought similar results?  Not looking for mag x vs mag y comparisons, just wondering if ALL (as the whole) of your lead sources have brought similar enthusiastic ordering?

Or, if disappointing, is there a commitment from within to stick with offering the new products for a period of time to see if orders improve further?  And disappointing is a poor descriptor.  A better description might be, well, we would be "OK" with 1000 pieces shipping, 1050 shipped, but we REALLY hoped 3000 would have shipped.

Bottom line: Aside from the Menard family member who's the hobbyist, is Menard's in general pleased with the direction this is going?

I would have to say in my opinion they are satisfied. Their pricing has been exceptionally good along with the offerings. Only they know if it is worth more investment. You may even say that they are filling a void that the major manufacturers don't. That is offering runs of their cars with different numbers. Weaver was the only one that did that on a regular basis so you could build a fleet of cars without having the same number on them. I think a good barometer to know how committed they are would be is to see new tooling for new cars and maybe an engine........Paul

All I know is that Menards is like the center in an Oreo cookie, and has established itself as one to be reckoned with in "O" scale field. My only wish is that they would offer vehicles from late 40s to 50s. Their buildings are outstanding and found places on mine and many more layouts, seeing some already sold out. Their niche, maybe small now, but sure to grow and attract concern from others as to their prices and pricing. Just check out the prices for quality automotive vehicles they have introduced, and will fit on many layouts. I commend them, and give high praise and thanks.

Sorry Carl, this post flew under my radar for a couple days.

We could not be happier about the warm reception and enthusiasm we have received from our fellow forum members! This outlet has allowed us to collect feedback (both good and bad) and apply it.

Needless to say, we are not disappointed about the exposure we have received. We want to get our name into the industry and we want to gain your trust. We are new in the industry (as compared to the big companies) but we have confidence in our products and our customer service.

We are very excited about where we are headed. Just keep the feedback coming because I can assure you, we are listening! We have many, many great offerings yet to come and we hope you are as excited as we are!

I am glad Menards is listening to everyone. It does look like you all are really trying to get things right by listening to the user comments about your products and then trying to incorporate suggestions and address any short comings fairly quickly. Not sure how you do all that, but I hope you can keep it up.

Some of the little things like different car numbers in the sets (and not all sequential) make a big difference to a lot of folks and that's what most (if not all) like to see.

I also think it's very impressive that Menards is able to introduce a new product every week. And have them available and ready to order. You have some great products and I am also glad you are planning to keep them coming. Very good news for us and the hobby.

Thank you for your efforts.
