Or anyone else that has the 14” Army flat with Blackhawk chopper.

I’m thinking about getting one or four of the 14” military flats with helicopters.  The descriptions for both the Coast Guard and Navy Choppers state that the blades collapse, but the description for the Army chopper does not say anything about if the blades collapse.

So, do the blades on the Army Blackhawk chopper collapse so it can navigate narrow passageways?

I found out that that the Blackhawk blades do fold (for shipping).  Now I have to decide if I want the Blackhawk or the Seahawk.

The only helicopter on a flat car offered by Menards that I can find definitely is not a Blackhawk. Do you have a link for such a flat car with a true Blachhawk model? I would really like one, if such exists. (My son piloted UH60 Blackhawks in the US Army for close to 20 years.)

Thanks

Alex

I have bought 2 of the flat cars with the Navy Helicopters on them.  The cars are beautiful and the Helicopters are quite nice.  One of the doors on the helicopters opens to allow troops to be let off or picked up depending on the mission.  Plus, the Helicopter carries 3 Bombs.   Will probably buy 2 more of the flat cars with the Army Helicopters on them.  I can use my Lionel Airplane Hanger Kit and turn it into a Helicopter Storage Building.  Will also use my Lionel Linex Wide Oil Tank and Tall Oil Tank to add a little more realism.  Now, I will have to go out and buy some troops and military personal to complete the picture.....railbear601

A question about the helicopter, is it really 1/48 scale?

They are very close to 1:48.

A Blackhawk chopper is 65' long. That would make the model 16.25" long. Those models don't appear to be anywhere close to being that long or they would be hanging over the ends of the flatcars. So, the answer to the question is an obvious, no. They are nowhere close to 1/48 scale. My guess is that it is a 1/72 scale model.
