go down towards the bottom of this page;
went there but all I could find is a discussion of a video that was done with an phone camera and someone does not believe it.
Apparently bigdogetrain's link is the wrong one where Rich explained about keeping the NS heritage diesel in idle as the curve was negotiated while passing all the spectators at the park.
765 didn't "need" any help on the hill, but I used some anyway, to keep our speed up.
Leaving Altoona I learned that NS had held two eastbounds up on the mountain. They were being held until we went by the curve. Since they were holding trains for us, I used the diesel out of Altoona to get our speed up to 23-24 mph, to save a little time getting to the curve.
However, before getting to the curve, I notched the diesel down to idle and the 765 did ALL the work going around the curve and up the hill west of the curve. Speed settled in at 10.9 mph on the GPS speedometer with the 765 doing all the work.

the last post and five up is where rich said
"Also note that the diesel is just IDLING!"
