Question for the group re Legacy

I have been running conventional and would like to take advantage of the operations afforded by legacy. I know my Lionel locos will work with the Lionel device. I have a Kline tank engine and an Atlas RS-1 as well. Will these also work with the Lionel device? Can you also give me an idea of what my dollar outlay will be for a command base and controller?
