I contacted MTH and they are out of the replacement bulbs for the Standard Gauge #63 Lamps,

and had no idea when they would be getting them in.

Does anyone know where I can get the correct bulbs for these? I do not want any old bulb, I want the correct one for this item.

Thanks,

Thanks Guys,

Wow!! I checked both suggestions and what a difference. One was $3.00 each and the other was $14.75 ea.

Which makes me wonder about bulbs in general for loco's and passenger cars? Would it be cheaper to buy from the manufacturer or from parts guys? I have always liked to support both to spread the wealth so to speak, but just curious.

I think manufacturers only sell hulbs in bulk, so you kind of have to find a distributor. Unless you want to buy a thousand bulbs at a go!

I buy basic bulbs in 10-packs from Memotronics. They sell a 10 unit box of 18v E10 size bulbs for about $6. If you need more than a handful this is a cost-effective way versus buying them for $1 apiece from a parts vendor. (They also sell bayonet bulbs for you postwar guys. Don't think they have globes, but I could be wrong.)

Generally I purchase my bulbs by the hundred.

I have not purchased bulbs in a while now. Here are two dealers who cater to the Lionel / American Flyer trade, and discount their bulbs. They also sell bulk wire, and selected parts I have purchased from both:
