Would any of you think of repairing and old Lionel Box? The item I purchased came in a 'correct box'. Really common, but the box is unglued, not torn, but held together with rubber bands. Do you think I should glue it back? Silly question, but was just wondering. thanks.

Yes. I use Avery acid free glue sticks. If it's just a seam then fixing it would be healthier for the box. Instead of tape for a loose flap, I create a backing for it with acid free tissue and reconnect to the box with the acid free glue. Never use tape. Years ago, the Smithsonian web site had this info for people looking to preserve old scrap books, photo albums, etc.
I was thinking of using 'white glue', but was afraid that it would bleed thru. The side pieces have become undone, so it needs a structure.
