Question on the newest run of MTH gp-40 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

If anyone has this engine, pleas e tell me how to access the switches. Instructions state they are generic and that the switches are either underneath the loco or underneath the ventilation cover. I don't see them underneath the engine. The ventilation cover is so tight, that I cannot lift it off. This is a first for me. All my other MTH locos have easily removable ventilation covers. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance.

The vent covers are held in by magnets.

That's what all my other ones are like. But not this one. Do you have one of the latest gp-40?

Pull the shell for a brief look. 4 screws..maybe 6.

My GP-40 has the switches under the front trucks. It is brand new.
