My question is based solely on curiosity (or noseyness), I've been looking at videos of Howard's layout and I have his new book "My Life with model Trains" and I know he has a massive HO layout but I thought that I saw from photos parts of an O scale layout also. Does he have an O scale layout or some part of an O Scale extension. And while I'm at it, does anyone have an update about Tony Lash and his layout and consequently Laidoffsicks layout. Answers to these questions should quench my summertime train thirst. Thanks everyone. MARSHELANGELO

Laidoffsick moved to Albuquerque New Mexico do not know if he is building a new layout, or what happened to his old one.
hopefully he will chime in.

Doug's "old layout" was, and still is, at his dad's house in Southern California.
hopefully he will chime in.
Greg,
I am pretty sure Howard Zane does not have an O Scale layout, though the thought would be eyebrow raising. However he does sell building kits, etc in all scales. He has photographs in various places of model railroads he has worked on for customers including an O Scale layout.
As far as the other two men, I am as in the dark about them as you are. Laidoffsick is a member of this forum and occasionally will post something for sale. I'm sure by contacting him he would be happy to tell you what is going on. The gentleman has already said his dad's layout still exists but we never get to see it on YouTube anymore. That may have something to do with his move. It was certainly a joy to see it in progress and some sense of completion.

Tony is doing well running his yacht between Florida and the Bahamas.

Howard Zane does not have an O scale layout. Tony Lash is well and as jovial as ever. No new layout--yet--but don't rule it out. Spends much of his time soaking up the sun in Florida.
Thanks everyone for the update, as long as both gents are okay and doing well, what more can we ask for. Again, THANKS
I do see Howard Zane at all the Great Scale Model Trains Shows held at the Md. State Fair Grounds in Timonium, Md. He used to co - own this show but has since sold it. He continues to attend as a vendor and sell his model buildings at the shows, he does beautiful work in HO and O scale. I know a few years ago he was building an O guage layout for a client. I've had the privilege of visiting his home and seeing his incredible HO layout. It's absolutely stunning!!
Hot Water is correct... I moved to Albuquerque last November but the layout is still up and running at my parent's house in Southern CA.
We are renting a house and a huge down size for us so no room for trains. There isnt even any clubs or groups here to run my scale stuff. Once we sell our CA house in 4 or 5 years and find something to buy here in Abq, I hope to have space to set something up.
Tony Lash’s layout is long gone, the result of his retirement and move south. It has been discussed often on this forum. Just do a search if you are curious for more details.

Laidoffsick,
I just returned from the TCA convention in RI. The next convention is in June 2019 in ABQ. I was told that there will be several large O gauge layouts in ABQ on the layout tours. You may want to contact the local TCA group to find a place to run your trains.
I plan to attend the convention. I hope to see you there.

I attended a TTOS? Conv. in Albq. after an O scale meet in San Antonio, where l, alone, walked the river walk (Mad Dogs and Englishmen out in the Noonday Sun) well, close...Welsh, and what was Wales when my ancestors left on the Susan, is now Shropshire, part of England. It was 100+ but did not feel like it when l strolled. This was when you could fly cheap and comfortably, so l hit both shows in a week, on three flights. In Albq. you are not far from the D&S (whose predecessor once ran into Santa Fe) nor the C&T, so if you missed those, Eddie, you might consider this convention for a trip, and if Amtrak will get you close. I pick conventions to attend for location, and that is close to the right place. Will depend on drouth and fires.
