1) Does it take a battery?
2) Is the chuff rate adjustable?
Thanks for reading.

I don't think RailSounds 1 had a battery provision, that came along with RailSounds 2 or 2.5. I know 2.5 had a battery connector...
Thanks, John. Any idea if the chide can be tweaked?
chide? What's that?
Sorry chuff
How do you mean "tweaked"? You can't change the sound if that's what you mean. If you're talking about the chuff rate, that might be possible. It has a hall effect sensor on the wheel, perhaps replacing the axle with the round magnet with two small disk magnets on the wheel would double the chuff rate.
Thank you both. Whistle is fine, but I’ll def look into severing J2 connection to get the better chuff rate. Merry Christmas.
John - The photograph you provided with the instructions for altering Railsounds contains the proviso for “early” Railsounds. Is it possible I am looking at a later version? I do not see any jumper wire on the bottom of the board at the J1 juncture. I would like to interrupt that solder joint and be able to increase the chuff rate. This is what I see.How would you suggest I sever the solder connection? Thanx, again.
