By which name I mean, of course, that it took so little time to build.  Two hours, start to finish!!!

I needed a backdrop type building to go behind my tacky trailer park.  This almost-seedy 11-room and office 1950s motel took only two hours to make.  Its 39 inches long, and nothing but printed image on scrap boards and wood with  some plastic railings and a few odd Woodland Scenic details thrown in, etc.  I found some free brickface wall images on the internet, where I also found images of old buildings and cut and pasted windows and doors and lanterns from those images onto the brick to make one room, then copied and pasted it in repetition.  Same for the roof - just a shingle pattern I found.  The sign is from some free old Route 66 image library.  I just printed and glued it to mattboard and trimmed.

It looks amazingly good for so little time spent.  I will install it tomorrow and then with the background done, finish the trailer par this weekend.

Indian Trail Motel

how about the BAITS MOTEL?LOL!!!!

Jeerman - the windows and doors are "cut and pasted" onto the brick background, but it was all done in the computer, so when printed it is all in the image as printed.  I just cut out the paper and rubber cemet it to the wood block and trim, and presto!  A motel.

AMC Dave - can't remember the site.  I used google images to serach for 1950s motels or something.

Everyone - I have attached the Powerpoint file in .pptx format (small, quick to download, but some folks don't have software to open it) or the older .ppt format which is a much larger file.  Both contain everything needed for this building.  It includes the sign, the roof sections, and the motel rooms and office wall faces I used.

By the way, I had considered making this a two-story motel, which would have been very cool, but decided it would be a bit taller than I wanted.  Printer-paper-on-block is a truly wonderful way to get good looking background buildings (and buildings, for that matter) in a hurry!
