Greg, I am kicking around a couple of ideas.  nothing fancy.

Benchwork arrived today.

Wow number 5.  It's been 40 years and I haven't completed  my first one! 😂

have fun !

I stained the some legs today.  If the rain stays away I will work on the beams this week so I can assemble the table next weekend.

You are off to a great start with Mianne Benchwork. I love mine. Looking forward to the progress!

Sort of on hold.......all the wood is delivered and in place. I need to purchase wire.  I am waiting for the Ross transfer table to arrive and then we can start. We likely will motorize the lift gate in the meaning time.

However, before another project starts, all my helpers (and I) will be engaged in our planned upgrades to the 21x43 moular layout, building some new 4ft modules for expansion, building a new 44"x64" layout for our yearly fund-raising raffle and then updating our plexiglass module barriers with thicker plexiglass.

Then, we can move over to my attic......

Realistically, I will be happy for an August start up......while I wait, I can still work on my accumulated structure kits.

Do you have an updated track plan?

Peter, No solid plans yet. I keep thinking of something different everyday. I am looking at the first of August for a first run.

Here is a short video of the Benchwork.  Tonight is hookup the liftgate.

Liftgate is working.  Now it is time for the top.

I used rust oleum stain.  Stain color is Early American. I purchased it at the local Walmart,

The Top and Sound Boards were delivered this morning.  

The top was installed today thanks to a friend.  Put on the 1/2 inch plywood and the 1/2 inch sound board.  Next I am going to tape the seams.

Jeff you are making good progress. You are fortunate to have a space that is this nice.

I really like the benchwork you have done, but what is that yellow thingy with wire coming out and how is it used? I guess my old age is starting to show.

Leon:  It is the control for the lift gate.

Thanks.  Luckily I have had some good help.  If I was doing this by myself, I think I would still be building the frame.

I got all the track in place. Now I need to add the roadbed and wire it.

That's some neat lighting and sound set, Jeff.  I'm not familiar with the Acela; are you showing us it has a powered engine on each end?

It looks like you have a train room companion like mine investigating under the layout.

Mark, Yes it has a helper engine and I have a couple train room buddies.
