My friend bought a Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Train (30-4171-1) set made in 2006. Everything worked fine until he bought an MTH DCS Commander System w/100 Watt Power Supply (50-1029). The engine turned on after we added it, went about a foot then stopped. It smelled like something electronic smoked. The big difference between the Z-1000T Transformer With Controller, and the DCS Commander is the Z1000 puts AC to the tracks and the DCS puts DC. Could the DC Voltage smoke the engine?
