i have a L-3 4-8-2 Mohowk made in 1990 . The sound has stopped working Is there anything that i can do to fix this myself any info would be greatly appretiaced thank you

Do you have the actual Lionel product number?
Have you tried running the volume control back and forth a few times?
Do you feel comfortable opening up the tender?
This looks to be the 1991 version, it has the old RailSounds 1 board. Checking the connections, seeing if the speaker is bad, etc. is pretty much the first steps.
I belive it is #71-8009-250 I have opened it up but have found no lose or broken wire s . Im going to try the volume again .
