A while back I acquired a Railking Allegheny(https://mthtrains.com/30-1612-1), I remembered it squeaking and needing oil when I first got it but it was my last engine before I got out of the hobby for about 4 years, I recently have started again and the Allegheny is struggling to move like its running gear hates itself almost like the valve gear of the model is getting locked up, its almost like the engine has no speed control too, its like running my K-line bigboy with no odyssey speed control, none of my other MTH engines have this problem either. Could this just be the engine needing oil on its valve gear? Or could something be wrong with its 2 motors? Surprisingly it doesn't have any connections problems, I almost never get the check track signal on the remote.

Im sure others smarter than me will reply. I would start with running on the bench with the drive wheels up in the air. See if one driver set runs faster than the other, this could show if 1 motor is slower than the other. If one set is slower try removing the motor and turn the wheels for that motor by hand slowly and check for binding either a bent rod or something rubbing a wheel.
